Professional Ethics for Massage Therapists

Description:Bringing respect and reverence to the therapeutic process or helping relationships is the focus of this Ethics class. As a practicing massage therapist, we are challenged by our clients to define and redefine what our personal and professional ethics encompass. Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals Code of Ethics will provide a framework for this class as students explore their personal values, standards of conduct and professional ideals as a provider. Experiential learning techniques will create an enlivening environment for personal and professional growth.
Instructor: Sue Lembeck-Edens, LMT (#1465) is a graduate of Penn State, Goucher College and The Baltimore School of Massage. Throughout her education, Sue’s focus was on the body/mind, whether it’s the use of expressive movement in Dance Therapy or functional movement enhanced through massage and exercise. Continued training in Pilates, Zero Balancing, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Bartineff Fundamentals, and Yoga expanded Sue’s knowledge base of body structure and function. Sue draws upon her varied background in dance, movement therapy, Massage and Energy Healing modalities to bring a fresh and innovative approach to her teaching.
